Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-04-26 Last updated: 2026-04-26

Publisher: Emil Saranpää (private person), Finland. Contact: routa.game.app@gmail.com

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Routa mobile application (“Routa”, “the app”). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Eligibility and age

Routa is a drinking-themed party game intended for adults aged 18 or older. By using Routa you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you meet the legal drinking age in your country of residence. You are responsible for complying with the alcohol laws that apply to you.

2. Alcohol disclaimer — read carefully

Routa is a social game. The game does not measure how much you drink, does not adapt to your tolerance, and does not assess whether drinking is safe for you in any given moment.

You agree that you use Routa entirely at your own risk and that the publisher is not responsible for any harm — to you or to others — that arises from alcohol consumption while playing.

3. Licence to use the app

Subject to these Terms, the publisher grants you a personal, limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to install and use Routa on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial entertainment.

You may not:

4. Acceptable use

When using the multiplayer features you agree to:

The publisher may, where technically possible, refuse service or prevent further use of the multiplayer features by anyone who breaks these rules.

5. In-app purchases

Routa offers optional non-consumable content unlocks (for example the Satanen and Kuuma card decks) sold through Google Play Billing on Android and the Apple App Store on iOS.

6. User-supplied content

The only user content the app processes is your chosen display name, which is shown to other players in your room. You are responsible for that name; do not include personal data of others, trademarks you do not have rights to, or unlawful content.

7. Service availability and changes

Routa is provided as is. The publisher does not guarantee that the app or its multiplayer features will be available without interruption, free of bugs, or compatible with every device or operating-system version. Multiplayer functionality depends on third-party infrastructure (Supabase Realtime) that may experience downtime.

The publisher may update, change, or discontinue the app, specific game modes, or specific multiplayer features at any time, including for legal, technical, or safety reasons.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Routa is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Mandatory consumer-law warranties under Finnish law and the law of your country of residence remain unaffected.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher is not liable for:

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection rules.

10. Termination

You may stop using Routa at any time by uninstalling it. The publisher may suspend or terminate your access to specific features (such as multiplayer) if you breach these Terms or use the app in a way that risks harm to others or to the service.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer resident in another country in the European Economic Area, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence; these Terms do not deprive you of those protections.

Disputes shall be brought before the District Court of the publisher’s domicile in Finland, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules grant you the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

12. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Updates are posted at the same URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not accept them, please uninstall the app.
